Tiny payments from eBay

I've received a 2p and a 6p payment from eBay. I have items listed but they haven't got bids or anything yet. Does anyone know why this might be?

I'd ask customer services about that, it could be that someone else has entered their bank details incorrectly.

Did you just add your banking details for payment? They send you two different small amounts so you can verify it’s your account.

Yeah I've just managed to get in touch and this is what it was! I've bought loads but it's the first time I've sold anything.

I've had the same today and just wasn't sure. I've now had an email asking for my bank details so they can pay in the money owed but I just want to check it's not a scam.

This is their new account verification system isn't it? Micro deposits? I've just gone back on and sold first thing since they got rid is PayPal, and I'm v confused, but I think I need to wait for them to make two deposits and then enter it into the payment section so they can verify it's my account before they will pay me.
