eBay - no customer service!!

I need to speak to someone at eBay and the telephone just directs you to an auto message then clicks off - they are driving me mad! Why can't you just speak to someone nowadays

All the auto stuff tells me to log in to my account but I can't log in.

Account was suspended a few months ago which I figured was just me locking it by forgetting my password and didn't think much of it as I'm not a big user. Now I have debt recovery emails on ebays behalf for £22 and I have no idea what it would be for. I haven't sold anything on their in years.

No experience with eBay but it drives me mad how we are supposed to be so advanced in most things compared with our parents, grandparents and great grandparents and yet customer service is so dire.

Couldn't agree more - get the basics right first please.

Talk to Citizens Advice, I'm not sure they can bill you if they suspended your account and locked it.

If you know nothing about this then my guess is someone's hijacked your account, "sold" things and scammed the buyers, who have been refunded. eBay are now chasing you for the money. Create a new eBay account and go onto the forums on eBay. I haven't used it in years but the forums used to be very good, lots of knowledgeable ebayers to help you. You might need a new email address before you create a new eBay account.

Luckily it's all sorted now, they got back to me despite the auto reply to my message saying they couldn't deal with my request.

It was for a reserved fee on an item that didn't even sell.
