ebay - do I have to use my bank account?

When I last used ebay to sell things I used Paypal, but now do I need to use my bank account?
Would I be better off starting a new account just for ebay sales?
I have quite a lot of things to sell.

Please advise. Thanks

They wouldn’t let me list anything to sell until I put my bank account on.
I used to sell sporadically, I won’t bother again tbh. If I buy off ebay I still use PayPal, I prefer it.

Why do you feel it needs a separate bank account though? Just curious.

I’ve recently been looking at vinted, a lot of people say positive things about it. Would that be worth a try?

It's fine.

I suppose I'm a bit nervous of it. It was fine when it was via Paypal

I could try Vinted or Depop

I used to sell a few bits on eBay and have stopped as I don't want to put my bank account details on there.

I've used my bank account a couple of times for buying and selling. No issues, the other party doesn't have access, just eBay.

I don't like Ebay having access to my bank account, because their t&cs say that you have to give them permission to withdraw money, as well as deposit money (so they can do refunds if necessary). There seems at least the potential for something to go wrong.

I did register a bank account with them, but I used an old one that I don't have much other use for, and I've decided to keep that account for Ebay only.

I've had no issues, refunds have been fine as well.

Since Ebay have changed their fees and got rid of paypayl I wont sell on them anymore. The only thing for the better was the selling fee came out of what you were paid for the item straight away, rather than you getting the full amount then getting an invoice for the selling fees the following month. Its seems to be an expensive way of selling now.

I like selling clothes on vinted as its free to list, and the buyer pays the postage themselves. I had a clear out if cds, dvds and console games and used music magpie. Some only sold for a penny, some £5-6, but I had over 100 items and got £60, with free postage (i had to take them to the nearest post office tho).

I will only use ebay to buy now.

I have used a bank account that is rarely used and has only a small amount in it. There was no way I was handing over my current account that is used all of the time. I also didn't like the way they are holding onto funds and regarding my 'account' as new until the buyer is happy, because it's not a new account. I've used Ebay for over 12 years, and have hundreds of positive feedback, just not with my bank account- only Paypal.
