regarding cleared cheques and collection

Any thoughts on this? A new ebayer bought an item of furniture from me over a week ago, which needs collecting - she said she would send a cheque and collect on the 21st once it had cleared.
I hadn't heard from them since, no cheque, and emailed last night to confirm they would be paying on the say.
I got a reply saying she had lost my address so no cheque had been sent, could she arrange a courier to colelct it, which will be within 7 days of arranging it, and therefore the cheque would be cleared by then...
So I replied saying that yes, of course a courier would be fine, and I would let her know when the cheque had cleared so she could arrange it then, as i didn't know how long a cheque would take to clear (obviously not going to be instant - and the couriers could turn up any time within the week).
I also suggested that if she wanted to arrange it straight away, she could pay me by bank transfer as that would clear instantly.
Do you think this is fair?
Obviously the couriers can't be expected to pay cash on collection on her behalf.

Have I done the right thing?
