I sold a phone for £400 on eBay and on the final day of the 30 day money back guarantee the buyer stated that the phone doesn’t work properly and wants a refund. The phone was in perfect working order when it was sent and as they’ve had it a month I suspect that they’ve damaged it somehow. EBay have sided with them and say I have to refund so I’m going to be £400 and left with a phone that I can’t even sell on because it is now broken. I’m so annoyed. Is there anything I can do?

Ebay always tend to side with the buyer. Make sure they return the phone first before giving the refund.

Have they said in what way it's not working properly?

Sounds like it keeps turning off which it didn’t do when I had it. I took pictures of the imei number before I sent it so can see if it’s my phone or not. The phone was immaculate so will be even more annoyed if it comes back with scratches etc. EBay said if I can prove the phone is damaged they might just do a partial refund but with the described fault I’m not sure I can prove it.
