Not sure what to do about this.

I bought 3 items from a seller nearly a month ago. I paid on the same day via paypal and items arrived.

Left positive feedback for the seller but they havent left any for me to say good buyer.

After 2 weeks I sent them a nice email asking them to do it. Then after another few days another reminder - not rude just not quite as friendly.

Still havent done it - so left 'followup feedback' sayign that they havent left any for me which hasnt made any difference.

Is this just not a big deal and I should forget it?

Just a bit irritating really.

think you have to forget it really, I do find it so ignorant though when you bother to leave feedback and it's not reciprocated (?sp). However feedback is not mandatory and sometimes meaningless [f]

Saturn74 · 12/12/2007 18:10

you can 'follow up feedback left' to say that they didn't leave f/b despite your requests.

kizzie · 12/12/2007 18:36

I did the follow up feedback thingy - and it didnt make any difference so guess I'll just forget it.

(Not really !!!! Because its christmas - hurrah!!!!!)

If you left me feedback saying I hadn't left you feedback, I would be really hacked off tbh. Some people would go further and leave unpleasant feedback so I wouldn't persist with this method

feedback is completely optional and I have no idea why you would harrass a buyer to give you some

why do you care? What difference does it make to you in the long term?

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 12/12/2007 18:48

I think I recall being a bit keen on the old feedback front as an ebay newbie, Fran it seems bizarre now, I took a ret neg with complete equanimity the other day and was pretty psissed off when we did a mutual withdrawal...I kind of wanted them to keep theirs, and my score wasn't affected nearly as much as theirs (ha). Battle scar if you like.

Kizzie, some people will leave you neutral or neg if you go after them for FB, so it isn't worth the risk. Some never leave it at all, some leave it in a bunch all at once, (I do that sometimes, depends) and others will immediately leave glowing fb the second their item arrives.
Don't stress it - I know it's hard to build up a score fast without everyone chipping in, but it will come and it's considered bad form to chase it up.

no wait.... I need to to vent

Kizzie - don't read the following - I'm not having a go at you, it's just that this is my pet peeve.

feedback is optional.
Some sellers leave it in batches. Some not at all. feedback is optional.

there. is. nothing. more. annoying. than being pestered for feedback.
There I am merrily working away when I note I have a message from ebay. Thinking ohhh maybe it's a sale or a question that could lead to sale, I stop what I'm doing and open the message......asking for feedback fgs. They interrupted my flow just to ask for feedback? How very dare they? I wouldn't care but feedback as a buyer is (almost) irrelevant anyway.

I had 8, that's EIGHT messages from a buyer last week asking for his precious feedback. [gollum emote] he even started stalking me! He noted that I had left some feedback and accused me of leaving him out. If you are going to stalk me at least pay attention as to whether I have left it for sellers or buyers. As a seller I leave it in batches.
When I left the batch of feedbacks i gave everyone else a prefilled glowing pos but I wrote for him "paid". He has his feedback now doesn't he?

If I even noticed that a buyer had left a follow up FB on another's FB complaining that they hadn't received any FB I would add them to my blocked bidders list. In fact my BBL contains quite a few buyers who have posted as such on the ebay forums.

and breathe....

bah

HappyMummyOfOne · 12/12/2007 22:36

We leave our feedback in batches too and have to say if I'm ever chased for feedback I dont leave it on principal as it really annoys me.

seeker · 12/12/2007 22:45

Somebody chased me really persistently for feedback once - I had a lot of things on my mind and hadn't got round to it. Because he hassled me I left "Here's the feedback you asked for" Feel a bit mean about it now, but it was brilliant while I was doing it!

FairyTaleOfNewYork · 12/12/2007 22:56

i do mine in batches.

someone emailed me 3 times in one day to ask for feedback.

i still havent left it for them.

[whistles]

TwinklyfLightAttendant · 13/12/2007 06:16

Ooh you are a mean lot

I had a German woman ask me for some last week, in German which I couldn't understand.
Eventually I realised and left her a glowing report, because she had bought an antique doll from me which had no arms and I was justifiably relieved that she was actually pleased with it

Then I realised she was the same person who harassed me for ages a few months ago about another decrepit doll and trying to get the price down.

Never mind.

They are all bloody bonkers.

kizzie · 13/12/2007 11:44

ooooh didnt realise i was going to hit a nerve .

Just assumed that because I was hassled to leave feedback for sellers - it worked the other way round.

And thought it was importnat to build up your feedback so people know you are a good buyer and will always pay.

Maybe I'd better just go and hide now and wait for the seller to leave me some bad feedback because ive hassled the,
