Collection only item & covid

I'm selling a piece of furniture, collection only, and there's been quite a bit of interest. It's up to £40 already.

However my teen has just tested positive for covid.

WWYD? Just pull the sale? Let it run and then give them to choice of collection from our garage or waiting? I don't want to mess anyone round, and potentially we could have another family member testing positive and staring another 10 day isolation period at any time. But pulling it now feels like I'm messing them round too.

Contact them and tell them and see what they prefer, offering to wait until you're all clear.

Thank you for replying @Geamhradh. Do you mean contact everyone who's bid so far, or let it run and then contact the winner? I have over 20 watchers and I know most won't bid, but there's still a decent chance the winner will be someone who hasn't bid yet.

I could edit the listing to explain the problem but I'm reluctant, it'll slam the sale price.

Don't let the infected person cough on it and crack on. I'd advise it will be contactless collection, pop it outside ready for them with a little pot to put the money in.

I'd let it run and give them options. FWIW, I'd still collect from you in the circs as it wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

Not sure we could do a friend's garage but we could certainly move it outside or to our garage for a few hours. Thanks everyone.
