Does anyone know what I need to do to get selling on eBay again? When I try and list an item it says my ability to sell has been suspended but I can get started if I update my account details. Which details do I need to update? I've added a credit card as it was just PayPal before but that hasn't helped. Any ideas? Thanks!

Omg I have this issue and it's SO frustrating!! I have tried everything and there is no way for me to add a bank account. I keep being directed back to the same effing page which has no clickable link in it or instructions as to how to update my account. When I follow the instructions in help they don't work - there is only an option to add a bank card or PayPal in 'payments', not a bank account!

Can anyone help?

@cosmopolitanplease yes...exactly what's happening to me. Going round and round in circles but no real advice except 'update your account' I have put in card details but no place for bank details as far as I can see? Maybe I need to try going on to eBay on the website instead of through the app??

So I've just had a quite frustrating online chat with an eBay help assistant. He said I need to 'enrol managed payments, but you can't do that right now because you don't have an invitation. In order to receive an invitation we can try creating a listing and after that you will be entitle to enrol managed payments to enable you to sell on eBay.' So I said well I have a listing in drafts right now ready to go, I made it this morning. He said 'that's great, so everything we have to do is wait for the invitation to come. However the time for you to receive an invitation is not exact so I can't provide a timeframe for it' I asked how long roughly and he again said he can't provide a timescale.

So I guess we just have to wait for the invitation after attempting to list an item for sale? You might want to try chatting to a help assistant yourself to make sure you're in the queue of indeterminate length and timescale, or who knows you might even get a different answer!

I've had my account for over 20 years so I'm loathe to start afresh!

I've had another online chat today. Still no invitation and the person I spoke to today said that was incorrect advice. She has reported my issue to the concerned authorities (sic) and they should be in touch very soon with a resolution. Very frustrating as I have some winter clothes I need to put up for sale!

I’ve had my account permanently closed they have told me I’ve failed to reach their seller performance. I had over 200 items listed they gradually reduced the number of items over a period of time each time saying it was because I was below standard. When I queried they said it would be reviewed then just kept reducing limits. I’ve tried to ask them what specific issue it was but they just keep repeating below standard. I’m not a business I’m a personal customer - no complaints from buyers. I’ve said I could not increase my performance if items were not selling and they would not let me increase number of items so different items may sell. Everytime they just reduced until nothing. I have 20 items in unsold I try and realist and just nothing. I’ve spoken to them again just now. I’ve asked them if it’s because a couple of items were late posting.I have mental health issues and sometimes can’t meet the postage deadline but customer has been ok with this. I need this to supplement income. They say they understand but this decision is permanent.they have also suspended my daughters account she has no understanding of why and just gets stuck in the loop of help pages. Think something else is going on here but not sure what

That sounds incredibly frustrating @Notmyrealpersona. I sympathise, talking to eBay is like talking to the wall.

My issue seems to be resolved, in part. I was able to add a bank account at last (eBay hadn't bothered to email me and let me know, so keep checking those who are experiencing similar issue). However it's now asking me to verify my bank account by quoting the 'micro deposits' sent by eBay- but they haven't sent me anything. I suppose I'll have to have another frustrating chat with one of their assistants with a tenuous grasp of English.

I just tried to list an item again (tried multiple times before) and this time it prompted me to update my bank details and worked. I don't know if the online chats I've had prompted them to fix the problem their end or if it would have sorted itself in the end anyway.

I advise anyone with the same issue to keep raising the problem in the online chat function with a help assistant, and keep trying to list an item. Good luck everyone! (I still haven't been able to verify my bank account yet so my problem may not be totally resolved).
