I won an auction for a silk shirt.

Ok, shirt arrives, but it's sheer, which she failed to mention in the description.
If I knew it was sheer, I wouldn't have bid in the first place!

Anyway, she tells me that silk is sheer by it's nature, which I know is not the case.

I asked for full refund inc my returning postage.
She tells me she won't refund return postage.

Do you think it's worth a dispute? I mean, do you think they'll find in my favour??

Many thanks in advance for any responses.

Can you link to the original listing?

YuleLoveHekateAtSolstice · 07/12/2007 18:21

Maybe a daft question, but what's the difference? sheer silk/silk?

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 07/12/2007 18:22

TBH i wouldn't of known to put sheer. I would of just said silk shirt.
I wouldn't refund returning postage either.
Did it cost you much?
I would leave it and maybe sell it on.

I have a couple 100% silk shirts, neither of them being sheer.

Is it really sheer? Could you wear a vest top underneath? It's nice though.

WhenScoobyGotStuckUpTheChimney · 07/12/2007 18:26

It all depends on if you want bad feedback or not as i am sure it will be left after a dispute, i don't think the seller has to return the poatage anyway i think thats ebay rules but not 100% sure.

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 07/12/2007 18:26

Maybe you should of contacted the seller before bidding to ask her.
I would honestly not think to put sheer in a listing. Her description looks like the sort of thing i would put.

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 07/12/2007 18:27

Why don't you just wear a vest or a camisole underneath? For the sake of £3.90 I wouldn't bother with a dispute.

collision · 07/12/2007 18:29

blimey it was only £3.90 and 70p postage!

sell it on or wear a slip under it!

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 07/12/2007 18:30

It was only £3.20 with 70 p postage so £3.90 all together!

Wuxiapian · 07/12/2007 18:32

Yes, yes, I know it was a good buy! Still, it's blimmin' sheer and not what I thought it to be. I didn't want it to be sheer!

If you open a dispute you will need to return it using tackable post and then you will receive a refund which consistes of amount paid (item +p&P) but not return postage.

Wuxiapian · 07/12/2007 22:32

Oh, that's a bummer. Tut.
Might have to just try sell it on, then.
Thanks, all, for the advice
