eBay, payments new system

Okay so DH has sold an item on eBay. Buyer has paid, but funds haven’t reached our account, although it says buyer has paid. It says to dispatch now, DH isn’t keen on dispatch until funds have reached bank account. Do we have to wait a few days until the funds go into our bank account or do we have to dispatch the item for the funds to go into our account?! Confused!

You have to despatch first I'm afraid. The funds will be withheld until confirmed delivery.

You need to dispatch within the agreed time frame, I think the default when you list is 2 working days.

Otherwise you risk a black mark on your account for late dispatch.

This new payment system is really unfair on sellers - I sell a few bits on eBay to make ends meet and the new managed payment system means even though the buyer has paid, it doesn’t reach your bank account until up to 5 days later! I have changed my despatch time to 5 days for this reason - I don’t have the money to pay the postage until I have the money from the sale. I would say wait until you have the money, and message your buyer to say payment hasn’t cleared yet and you’ll post as soon as it does.

I have still been paying for items via PayPal, it’s just automatic for me.

They will withhold your funds until you set up your pay outs to go to your bank account.

I haven’t sold on eBay for ages, It feels like hard work now tbh & for the measly £1 my item just sold for I wish I’d just sent them (£10 BNWT shorts) to the charity shop. How much are fees now? What am I going to get -80p? Not worth the hassle of going to the p.o for!

12.5% fees now, but no Paypal fees. I only sell when they have a sell 3 for free offer.

I'm not sure if this needs a new thread but heads up sellers - the payment system is broken, and many sellers have found the money that Ebay said they have sent has not been sent.

If your money from yesterday has not arrived at your bank, contact Customer Services and let them know.

Thanks @Thelnebriati for mentioning this. I hadn't spotted it until the ebay email came through. I wonder what happened?

I don't know how it happens or how many people are affected, but its not the first time its happened. I check every week and if its late I contact Customer Services and ask them to check if its actually been sent. I also leave feedback that I would like the option of using PayPal (never had a problem with them!).
I was selling some items that post as parcels but daren't now, its bad enough having to wait for payment as it is. I've removed most of my listings so its Ebay's loss.

I hate the new Ebay system. It's all such hard work now.
