I sell a lot on eBay but unsubscribed from all the marketing because it was annoying inbox filler. However, I have something to sell now that might fetch > £100. So am motivated to reduce eBay's % of the sale price.

I gather the seller deals only last up to 30 days after first listing; after that reverts to usual % commission (right?)

To be aware of the seller deals, or to be able to take advantage of them, must I sign up to all the annoying marketing emails? Is that the only way to find out or get the reduced commission?

Thanks for any help.

You would normally get selling deals come in through your messages in your ebay account as well as your inbox. Got to your ebay account, then My Ebay then at the bottom of that is messages. I've had a few 80% off selling fees recently. You get a few days to list with that fee structure and it must sell within the first listing so eg 7 days if auction, or 30 days if Buy it now.

I got a max £3 fees email today. I'll probably accept it even though I'm unlikely to list anything for over £30 - wish they'd bring back the max £1.

I received the 80% off final fee offer email today. I think the £1 offers are well & truly gone.

I had a max £1 offer today! Lasts until Monday.
