Seller not replying to messages

Can anyone help? I bought an item on Tuesday, paid by PayPal straight after the auction ended. Seller messaged to say would only take cash as collection only. Asked her to refund me, as was willing to pay cash on collection. She hasn’t replied to any of my messages. eBay are asking me to wait until the 17th as item is ‘on its way’.

Can anyone help as to how I proceed? I have never had an issue like this. Not a cheap item so I’m fairly rattled.

If eBay say the item is on its way she must have marked it as dispatched; so if she refuses to respond to your emails all you can do is wait til eBay refund you.

You can leave negative feedback for her lack of communication, that might get her to sort things out.

Sadly looking at someone else’s feedback this week she has done exactly the same to them.

I thought there was some thing whereby sellers were advised not to accept PayPal for collection items as there was a scam whereby someone could claim they hadn’t got the item and PayPal/eBay would refund them 🤔
But maybe I’ve got that wrong.
So I’m not sure that it’s unusual for sellers to ask for cash only for collection
But agree that doesn’t excuse the non communication, and doesn’t explain why she wouldn’t have refunded you straight away

Ebay give the seller a QR code for collection only items, the buyer scans it with their phone if they are happy.

How bloody annoying, I hate scammers like this. We once sold an iPhone on eBay and then the buyer tried to claim the money back through PayPal, I think he said it was damaged. Anyhow, I checked his page and there were dozens and dozens of comments of him doing the same to other people. We disputed it and PayPal sided with us (our money had been frozen) but it still took about two months for it to be released. Nice try mate 🙄
