I hate the new change to eBay as a long term seller but my items are pretty niche so for most I need to carry on using..
but for about 6 weeks I have not received the usual email for £1 final fee offers.. Used to be about once a fortnight
Have they stopped doing them?
Also are listings free now to list?
I've been so put off I've not done any for a while

I haven’t had £1 FVF for ages. I’ve had a £3 FVF and a reduced % FVF which seems to be the way they are going. Listings are still free for private sellers (up to your maximum limit).

Since the system change, I get 50% off fees every two weeks, Fridays as it used to be. That's a 6% fees - not great obviously compared to one pound!
They did say earier that unless you switch they won't give promos, s I haev switched early on - been a month now.
Maybe there will be better promos later, who knows.

FUCKLONGCOVID · 08/06/2021 19:27

Same as the above. I think the £1 FVF are long gone unfortunately. Hardly worth it now without them. But sometimes needs must. Stuff just doesn't sell on Marketplace

I got the 80% off the variable fee email today. This seems to be the best offer around these days. But now I'm wondering if it's worth ending and relisting some higher value buy it now stuff. Can I do that does anyone know?

IncessantNameChanger · 14/06/2021 16:45

I haven't had a £1 max seller fee offer for about two months. I think they are over. I have had a 80% fees today so listed two things. I only really sell my kids outgrown clothes and have listed some things on Vinted too. You get more mo eye on Vinted but less sales.

@LizzieMacQueen yes I would end if I was you but I think it only applies to auctions not Buy it now? I'm not sure? Maybe read the fine print? Today's ends at midnight

strangeshapedpotato · 15/06/2021 20:16

The 80% off offers are MUCH better than the £1 offer with Paypal charges.

Say the item sold for £20.
With £1 offer - the seller paid £1 to ebay and 0.88 to PP
Now they'd pay 2.86 (no offer) or 82p with 80% off - a saving of over £1

£100 item?
£1 offer - £4.20 in fees, 80% off - £2.86 in fees.

Did you all receive your 80% off variable fees this weekend? Not great for me as I've a busy weekend but I'll at least get my high value items listed.

IncessantNameChanger · 11/07/2021 22:56

Yes I did. Can you not add a few stick placeholder listings then add the details later? I'm mostly just donating my DC outgrown clothes now but this is a bit less painful to get rid rid of the higher end bits like Mini Boden.
