Hi all,
Looking for a bit of advice. I have only sold a few things on eBay and don’t really know what I’m doing...!
I’ve just sold a tablet belonging to a family member (with their permission). It is quite an old tablet but was in full working order.
The buyer has opened a case saying that it isn’t working or is defective because they can’t use YouTube. I can’t see why it wouldn’t work unless they are trying to download an app and the tablet is too old? I don’t really know. But it did work for YouTube for me from the web browser...
Do I have any comeback on this? As far as I can see it should have been up to them to research what they were buying and whether or not it suited their needs. It is in complete working order as far as I’m concerned.
Are eBay going to go in their favour? In which case, what do I do?
Thanks so much!

In theory you are right, the tablet is old and they bought it at their risk. Unfortunately ebay tend to side with the buyer.

The easiest thing to do is tell them to return it for a refund, but you could talk to customer services first and ask how ebay would resolve this.

Our iPad is so old it will not support the YouTube app. Or online banking. Or lots of other things. (I might need to buy a new one Grin) I suspect that’s what they mean.

It's hard to say which way ebay will decide, and no point in phoning them as the person on the phone could say one thing, but the decision go the other way.

Did you explain in the description that the tablet was old and may not support the latest updates? Or did you just say "{Brand} Tablet good condition, fully working"?

Thanks everyone. I’ve decided just to offer a full refund. Pain in the bum but probably not worth the hassle.
Thanks for your help!
