Buyer says item not received, RM says it has - what else can I do?

The buyer said they didn’t receive the item so I showed them the Track and Trace page where it says Royal Mail have delivered it (1st class but not signed). I sent proof of postage too, then they opened a case and I sent the details on there too. The case is still open a week later. Do I have to do anything else or do I just wait for eBay now?

I think that they can claim through the post office claims page? Might be wrong.
Good luck.

This happened to me. I was the seller. eBay closed the case against me as I had sent it signed for and RM advised it was delivered.

I've claimed via royal mail for items I've sent being lost but not sure if you can do this if there's some sort of tracking to state it was delivered.

I’ll look into this thank you.

Only the buyer of postage can claim, if tracking says delivered ebay will normally decide in your favour if no tracking in buyers favour, if found in buyers favour you need to refund in fact ebay will make you. If you bought postage on ebay even without signed for there is a tracking number which may show as delivered you need to wait for ebay to decide

Watching this with interest as I’ve had an email from a buyer yesterday 3 weeks after I sent an item, saying it hadn’t arrived. I bought Royal Mail postage through eBay and Tracking says it was delivered.

Thelnebriati · 02/05/2021 00:15

Ebay changes their rules last year, you need to input the tracking number when you mark the item as posted. As long as you do that, you will automatically win these cases.
If you add the number later, or only give it when the buyer opens a case, there's a chance they'll side with the buyer. So you'll just have to wait and see.

That’s helpful to know, thanks Inebriati. I think for this one I paid for the postage through eBay so the number is added automatically.

@Jedstre just to let you know that eBay closed the case in my favour so I don’t have to refund so hopefully it will be the same for you.

Thanks @PatriciaCarmichael for the update. I haven’t heard any more but hopefully the same for me of buyer wants to pursue further.
