This is my message from Ebay

We appreciate that you chose eBay to list the following auction-style listing(s):

230188541262 - Girls first shoes from Clarkes size 4F as new condition

However, your listing was in breach of eBay's Keyword Spamming policy and has been removed from eBay. All fees related to this listing have been credited to your account. We also notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has
been canceled.

We would like to take this opportunity to let you know what part of your listing is not permitted.

Your listing(s) contains the following information:

Girls first shoes from Clarkes size 4F as new condition

Keyword spamming is not permitted on eBay. Keyword spamming is using brand names or other inappropriate keywords in an item title or description for the purpose of gaining attention or diverting buyers to a listing.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH MY PRODUCT DESCRIPTION????!!!!

Are they actually Clarks shoes?

mustrunmore · 09/11/2007 19:47

Bizarre if they are, which I'm guessing they are. Unless they dont like 'like new' because they're not actually new?

tortoise · 09/11/2007 19:47

I think its the as new condition.
They are either new or used.

BettySpaghetti · 09/11/2007 19:48

You've put "as new" which means anyone searching for "new" will find it but they are not new (IYSWIM)

ELF1981 · 09/11/2007 19:49

No, they removed two listings, this one and another which was "Clarks first boots size 4f in pink"

FURIOUS!!!!
They have been on for five days, had a day and a half to go and the removed it.

(and the ones listed as new, as described in the product listing, were worn once by my daughter, so pratically new!)

Hi

I had the same thing happen to me today! I was so annoyed, I had a few bids on the item as well and I couldn't even get back to the listing to copy what I'd written.

It was the "as new" in my title as well which is why mine was removed - I had no idea I couldn't use it as I've bought things before with it in the title!

ELF1981 · 09/11/2007 19:57

It is frustrating as I only have Ebay to sell the shoes on as it is pratically imposible to sell here!!

loucee · 09/11/2007 20:04

Yeah I know what you mean and the message to me said they had notified the people who had bid on my item - I hope they don't think I'm dodgy !

sixlostmonkeys · 09/11/2007 20:33

as new has done it yes - usually it's someone who reports you not ebay who trawl through the listings - which will be why your other got reported/pulled too

ScoobyDoo · 09/11/2007 20:35

Yes it will be the "as new" in the title, you will have to leave this out & just describe them on the listing itself.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 09/11/2007 20:36

yes as others have said either they're "NEW" or "USED" if someone specifically wants to buy "NEW" and put that search term in - then your listing will come up........even those they're actualy "USED".....

ELF1981 · 09/11/2007 20:41

Oooh, wish I knew who had reported me! I only had a day left (and putting them as like new wasn't doing any good as by close of play yesterday, I'd had no bids )

ive seen a few that are quite obviously keyword spamming eg 'NEXT we have' on childrens clothes. so when you type in for 'next' brand, up pops their listing.

they seem to have gone a bit ott on yours though. i wouldnt have a problem seeing 'as new' in the title tbh.

escape · 09/11/2007 20:48

sympathise - my adidas trainers got removed for the same reason - didn't know about the 'as new' thing though - can't remember if I put it in the title!

Denny185 · 09/11/2007 20:55

They are being really picky lately, Im sure its the as new thing but if you contact them they will send you an emailto say exactly why.

loucee · 09/11/2007 21:37

THelesbellsRINGOUTFORCHRISTMAS - I take it the clothes weren't from Next?

Nemo2007 · 09/11/2007 21:43

have had this aswell had a new mothercare breastpump on and was removed

sallysparkle · 09/11/2007 21:58

I put on a tube of Clarins body scrub that I had been given as a pressie by PIL. I don't use it so listed it. The listing was removed because it breached Clarins' rights. But there were 700+ other Clarins items on sale that night. So I listed again 2 weeks later and the same thing happened again. Because I was naughty twice I had to take part in this quiz thing and had to pass it to be able to list again. Bastards!

LesserSpottedMother · 09/11/2007 22:20

Caveat Emptor (sp?)

Have gone right off Ebay

laura032004 · 10/11/2007 06:41

ss - that's very odd.

I had to do the quiz last Christmas as they pulled loads of my auctions. Never had any major problems since though.
