Ayden Payment System

Does anyone know when everyone will be changed over to the new payment system on ebay (Ayden)? I have stuff I want to sell but don't want to start using paypal only to then switch over. Ebay seem to be lousy at communicating when I will be able to switch over...apparently people are receiving e-mails in batches to switch over and it is all very vague. I have never sold on ebay and concerned I might be left out of the loop - I have contacted their customer service team a few times but no further forward.

Anyone?

According to my 'reminder' today you have to have changed by the end of April.

Thanks Reverend...that's interesting to know. Hopefully it will come through soon.

I haven't had any communication.
Most sellers anre now on managed payment system. Funds from sales- including those from paypal no longer go into my paypal accout.

You can choose to switch now. I did and it's saved a fortune in PayPal fees. You get all the money straight into your bank account (takes a couple of days) minus the eBay fees, so no bill at the end of the month to surprise you.

Is that switch the managed payments system?

I'll take another look at it. When I last looked it didn't give me an option to use the new system - unless of course, I was looking in the wrong place.

I mean switch from the old system (PayPal for payments and monthly eBay fees invoices) to the Adyen (direct to bank payouts).

OK, I did that a few months ago.

The fees are exactly the same as they were before the switch. eBay are now collecting what you used to pay to Paypal.

They're not for me. They take the eBay fees but nothing for the payment. For example, I sold something for £100 last weekend. eBay paid me £99 which was the £100 selling price minus their £1 selling fee (listed as part of a £1 final fee promotion).

Under the PayPal system, I'd have perhaps received around £95 (I can't remember exactly what fees they charged) plus I'd have been invoiced for £1 eBay selling fee at the end of the month.

You used a special offer on fees limiting them to £1

Not exactly relevant unless you only list items when you get such an offer!

But there are no longer two sets of fees - I just used that as an example as the maths was easy. Before the switch to the new payments system, there were two sets of fees: the eBay selling fees PLUS the payment processing fees (paid to PayPal). Now it's just eBay's selling fees to worry about so, using the above example, I've saved money. Possibly eBay have increased their normal selling fees to cover the payment processing costs, but it's not a separate charge. In any case, there's nearly always a promotion for £1 total fees so.. as per my original statement, it's saved ME a fortune.

I was meant to do this by today but I’m a very small scale seller so cancelled my remaining few listings. I’m worried about linking it direct to my bank account to be honest. I could link it to another with nothing in it but I don’t have eyes on that one as easily. I think I’ll just not sell for a while until any problems are ironed out first.
