Someone has asked me if I have a 'buy it now price' - can anyone explain how that works?

I've had a email about the pram I am selling on ebay - they want to know if I have a 'buy it now' price? I didn't add on when I set it up so not sure what to do. I have eight watchers at the mo is it
A. worth hanging on in there as I still have seven days bidding time left?

B. how do you work out what price your 'buy it now' should be

and finally, what happens if you do sell it before the bid time ends - can you do that?

Phew! thanks!

NO - DON'T DO IT!

People try ti on by asking for a BIN price in the hope that you'll agree to a lower price than it would have gone for at auction.

I always just politely reply that 'no, I'd rather it went to auction, and good luck with their bidding'.

it's cheeky really. If you wanted to sell it BIN you'd have put one one!

I always reply the same as gameboy,

but, if you do decide to give a BIN price -

look at completed items same as yours to see what they went for, then add some

reply to question stating your BIN and would they be interested? If they are interested please let you know asap so that you can add a BIN to the listing. You cannot add a BIN once the listing has bids.

Add the BIN to the listing and message them again telling them you have done so.

It's up to you but you must only accept offers via ebay - not off ebay offers

hope this helps

Yes - sorry - SixLM response is sensible - you can add a BIN if you want, I still don't think it's a great idea if it's a popular item and you have lots of watchers?

i was about to ask the same question!

6LM thought that was the case, though just read this on ebay..

"Note: You can't add Buy It Now to an auction-style listing after the listing has begun."

How odd!

I have done this in the past and I've just gone on to one of my listings and went through the motions of revising and it appeared to allow me to add the BIN.

trust ebay to make things confusing...
