Ebay - new Adyen payment system, can a seller revert back to Paypal?

Hi, I've been selling on Ebay for years. I like clothes/shoes and regularly buy and sell on there. I know (or knew) the system well but I don't like this new Adyen NV payment system.
OK you receive the payment direct into your bank account in a few days. However, earlier this week I sold two items for the same price - £35 plus £3.30 postage. I received into my bank £31.88 for one item and £26.73 for the other - both items were identical prices!! I'm assuming that £5.15 has been taken for Ebay fees but have had no receipt to say so.
Does anyone know if I can come out of the new system and revert back to using Paypal for items I sell?

I had a quick look earlier and cant see any way to revert back. I dont know if setting up a new account would work, maybe if someone who's new signs up they could see if they can use paypal only and post here?

They also will end up taking more in fees, as they take 30p per item now and 12.8% of the total cost (including postage etc).

I think I've sussed the incoming payments system, they had indeed taken £5.15 in fees without my knowledge. There is a statement of transactions and debits in the seller account, however to my mind it's not crystal clear. I am currently deleting items from my 'sold' list as soon as I receive the payment into my bank account, it's the only way I can keep track of what is still outstanding.
I don't really want to start again with a new seller id, I've been a small private seller with 100% feedback for years, but think I'll pack it up soon when I've cleared out anything I want to sell.
I do wonder what protection we have as buyers though, now that we are frequently paying through this Adyen system.

It's a complete nightmare and has put me off selling. I sold some high value and heavyish items on Saturday and still haven't received the money for them. I can't afford to take the postage hit and wait to be reimbursed so can't send until it goes in! With the old system they would have been posted yesterday and I'm worried what this might do to my seller rating. I really hope there is a way to go back to the old system!

It’s rubbish, as the pp says, the money doesn’t clear fast enough and you’re left having to pay for postage and then having no item OR payment for a few days. Unless you wait for the money to clear before posting which isn’t ideal.

I agree that there's less transparency and I've struggled to see a breakdown of fees deducted.

That said, I think I'm better off for items over £10 which I've listed on a £1 selling fees promotion. I'm not 100% sure but I think I end up effectively not paying the old PayPal transaction type fees - so for a £35 sale, I'm just paying £1 which comprises both the final value fee and the transaction fee. Previously I'd have paid the £1 final value fee plus another £1 or so in PayPal fees.

Is there a risk that the payout isn't sent? I've been posting items as soon as they receive payment and trusting that the money will be paid into my bank a couple of days later. So far this has been the case but has anyone found otherwise?

It's definitely worth waiting for the £1 max fees before listing. You're better off financially then, as PayPal used to take a cut too.

You can't go back, and the aim is for everyone on eBay to be on this new system ASAP. They sent me a message saying if I didn't sign up within X amount of days, then I would be restricted!

If you can't post until the money is cleared, but are worried about bad feedback, do you think it's worth putting that in the advert? To manage people's expectations? Or messaging the person to explain?

I have no idea what happens if the payment doesn't go through. I thought that ebay took the money from the buyer, held it for a bit ( making money on the interest for a couple of days) then pass it over. I have mine set up to have the payment daily, rather than weekly, so make sure you've got that selected.

I have my payment set up to go in daily. It finally went in this morning after my buyers paid on Saturday. I'm struggling to see how this new system is better

All in all I preferred Paypal, they emailed the payment and the buyer's address together, so I knew where I was iyswim. I can't return to the old system so I'm familiarising myself with Adyen, it's just different I suppose.

I want to sell some items on ebay, it may take a few months. I don't want to have to change over to the new system but I haven't been given the option to join it...apparently you have to wait to be e-mailed/invited. Not sure how long this will take? Anybody?

If you sell something for £5 including postage, is waiting for '£1 max selling fees' going to be helpful?

most stuff i sell is for value < £10 with postage.

Is 30p (Adyen) the equivalent of the Paypal 20p fixed fee?
What % does Adyen take as their cut of total sale (was 3.5% for Paypal)

This is useful... Paypal vs. Adyen charges, but from 2019, so not sure if still true:

"3.4%+20p to 2.9%+30p it will mean a reduction in fees for payments over £20."

Paypal hasn't been 20p for a LONG time.

You should now be charged exactly the same fees via Ayden, as you were via Paypal

In the OP you have two items sold at £35 + £3.30 postage
Fees = 12.8% x £38.30 = £5.20

The total you should have received per item is £38.30-£3.30 (postage) - £5.20 (fees) = £29.80

That's what you've been paid in total, however they've confused matters by making it in two installments of differing amounts.

I'm put off by it.
