Hermes damaged parcel

I’ve sent an item which has been damaged in transit by Hermes/Packlink. What are the chances of making a claim, or am I just better writing it off?

If you don’t claim then your chances are zero
You have paid for the insurance as part of the price, so claim for the costs

Under eBay the recipient is entitled to their refund, if you don’t claim then you’re out of pocket for both the item and the postage costs.

If you haven’t had any already ask the recipient to send pictures of the package etc
(Make sure it’s clear that you are doing so to support your claim and aren’t doubting the recipient)
