Do I just accept my money is gone?

I bought an item from a seller and it was marked as delivered by Yodel. I never received it and when I spoke to yodel, they said it was delivered NEAR my address, but wouldn't tell me where. After 2 weeks, they told me they had basically lost the parcel/didn't know where it was. (Surely they have some sort of evidence of where it was delivered?)

I kept trying to get the seller to speak with Yodel and he just kept repeating that it had been delivered to me. I understand he may feel he is being scammed, but I genuinely haven't received anything! Yodel won't help me further and just kept telling me to speak to the seller, the seller kept telling me to speak to yodel. It was a circle.

I opened a case on eBay and they closed it saying it was delivered. So I'm pretty annoyed. Do I just accept the loss of money and move on? I guess there's not much else I can do. :(

Can paypal help? Hope you manage to get it back.

Can you dispute eBay's decision?

I did it when I had a problem with an item I'd bought - totally different circumstances to yours but eBay's first response was very much a 'cut and paste' standard type of thing, but there was the option to dispute it. I did that, and outlined my reasons why, and I felt that a real person looked at it then. I got the outcome that both the seller and I wanted.

eBay live chat and explain to a person what has happened

Have Yodel confirmed in writing/email the parcel is lost? If so, try a chargeback with your bank.

I would take it further. If Yodel can't provide evidence to the Ebay seller that it was delivered to your actual premises, then Yodel should pay the seller compensation and they can then refund you.

The seller needs to speak to Yodel as their contract is with him not you and they can only refund him not you.

Thanks everyone. Yodel said on webchat that they were unable to retrieve the parcel. It was very strange. I spoke to them about 5 times and they wouldn't tell me directly where it was or that they lost it. "Unable to retrieve parcel" is what they said. I only got a screenshot of that. They haven't replied to my email either.

I do actually feel sorry for the buyer as I do believe they have sent it and it's not their fault. But yodel have messed up and I want them to pay for the package they didn't deliver.

Small claims court for yodel

This wouldn’t work, the OP doesn’t have a contract with Yodel, her contract is with the seller.

As a first port of call I would call eBay and speak to someone and explain the situation. I think you can appeal the decision and submit evidence etc.

If no luck then ask the seller to press this with yodel and IMO they should refund.

As a final option a letter before action then small claims against the seller.

Contact eBay again- its worth a try.
Then if no joy, I'd plaster what happened all over social media re: yodel. Funny how when you do that companies often become responsible

Yodel will NOT deal with the OP, their contract is with the seller that sent the parcel.

The OP is better speaking nicely with the seller and asking her to push Yodel.
