Item 1 - 2 books from same seller, paid (paypal) on 6th Oct. Not recieved item, had + feedback but no communication.

Item 2 - DVD paid for on 8th (paypal), no comms, no item.

Item 3 - 7 books, paid for on 7th (paypal) to USA seller, receieved 1 book? Not sure to email her and ask if she's sent others seperately?

Obv I undedrstand there's been postal strikes and the last one needs to come from USA, but that's not normal right?

e-mail all of them, via ebay. let them know that you expect the items by a certain date or you will open a dispute with ebay.

mygirllollipop · 18/10/2007 15:40

I normally would email by now but what with the postal strikes I thought I'd be being a bit mean!
I might jsut ask when they posted to get an idea.

Oh forgot to metnion there's a FOURTH item, some socks, the seller sent them on the 10th and asked for feedback today, I replied saying I will leave feedback once my item has actually arrived, so I think he expects them to be here by now?

Because of the strikes this really isn't a long time. It would seem many of the items I have posted still haven't reached their destination.

This is no excuse for non-communication though. I've had loads of snotty shouts of Where's my book!!?? but I've still managed to politely reply
(just started getting the apologies from them now - heh)

I'd contact them again especially the USA one

Lauriefairycake · 18/10/2007 15:44

I've got a horrible feeling that all the parcel type stuff is in our local warehouse cos my postie told me he's only putting things he can carry and get through the letterbox - so I've received one book in last two weeks and have about ten parcels oustanding. (about 5 from qvc so not just ebay and amazon)

I emailed an ebay seller asking if he'd posted it yet and he said he had.

I'm not opening disputes yet - genuinely think they are just in the warehouse

DumbledoresGirl · 18/10/2007 15:45

I haven't had 2 items from 2 different sellers which date back to the 9th October (but are from sellers in this country). I am trying to stay cool about it as I think the postal strike may mean there is a backlog of parcels to deliver.

Sheherazadethegoat · 18/10/2007 15:46

i have emailed a seller 3 times about whether they ahve posted an itme an have not received anything back. while i understand about the strike etc it wouldn't be too hard to reply to an email. it is the lack of communication that gets my goat (excuse the pun)

mygirllollipop · 19/10/2007 09:46

I think I'll just ask them when they posted then. I know the socks guy said he posted on the 10th.

Dunno what I'm going to say to the USA one. 6LM you sell books, do you think her box wasn't big enough for all 7 books?, it cost her half of the postage I paid to her to send that one book, so I doubt she'll have sent them all seperately especially as I recieved that one a good few days ago and nothing since.

I'm still waiting for one paid for on 10th Oct. i emailed yesterday just the " could you let me know when you posted" but no reply. How long do you wait???

Oblomov · 19/10/2007 09:52

We have items still missing. I just assumed that they were part of the millions backlog, in the warehouses.

sixlostmonkeys · 19/10/2007 09:55

the general rule (although it doesn't really apply here ie, isn't the issue) is that if you pay with one payment you receive (all in) one parcel. - and 7 different payments would be 7 parcels etc.

You could be right about the size or weight of the total lot - although I can see the seller being out of pocket if this is the case (BUT that is her problem)
I'm not familiar with the USA postal system but maybe they have weight restrictions and this has caused her to send as she has. I have had to send in separate parcels to Canada before as the weight limit is lower than for other countries.

Can you check your invoice - just to make sure that ALL the books are on the invoice

DumbledoresGirl · 19/10/2007 09:57

I emailed my seller for an item that was paid for on 9th October. She replied saying it was posted (but didn't say when ) and that it must still be in the Royal Mail backlog.

I also sent a load of parcels out about that time and have had no feedback from any of the buyers so I guess they must still be waiting for their things too.

TimeForMe · 19/10/2007 12:10

Hi
I bought three items at the end of september. I received all three of them just yesterday so I wouldn't panic just yet

jessem · 19/10/2007 12:17

hello i ordered stuff from ebay a couple of weeks before the mail strike. my items arrived yesterday. i think they have a backlog still. i did try to contact seller 3x for information (when he sent it) and never got a reply. some sellers are just plain ignorant.
You can email each seller back and state that if you have not received your items within 1 week you will contact ebay and paypal. I have had to do this in the past and it's amazing how quickly they will get them in the post. x

elescarybells · 19/10/2007 12:20

im still waiting for stuff that i bought on 7th and 8th mglp. stuff ive bought since has arrived though so im a bit

mygirllollipop · 19/10/2007 15:50

Sort of glad I'm not the only one!
6LM - I didn't buy the 7 books seperately I bought them on one auction which is why it puzzles me!
No replies of yet.

that is a puzzle!

Lauriefairycake · 19/10/2007 17:03

I have finally received an item I bought on the 2nd October - bitched to ebay seller about it and got weird answer ("delays always expected") and he wasn't referring to the strike.

I now know why - advertised as coming from Surbiton, Uk actually sent from Greece! Assmunch .

Worst part is that even though I bought it on a buy it now he didn't post it till 10 days later - I think a week from Greece is actually ok. Just wish he'd not lied and said he'd posted it.

So nothing to do with strike one of mine - still have about 5 qvc's and 4 amazon's outstanding mind

Cloudhopper · 19/10/2007 17:11

I have emailed one of my sellers twice now about an item won on the 6th. It still hasn't arrived but he swears he posted it, so I am assuming the post is to blame.

sixlostmonkeys · 19/10/2007 17:19

I am getting a continuous stream of messages asking about their books. They already know about the strike/backlog etc so why are continually messaging me?!
Sorry - bad mood - just had a really aggressive/rude/nasty one

littleboo · 19/10/2007 18:22

have just had a reply from seller to say sent last fiday by 2nd class. he says he can claim if lost with proof of postage, where does that leave me??? anyone know.
As regards to Amazon, is anyone else finding their orders are just taking an age to even be despatched ( not counting the strike)

sarahlou1uk · 19/10/2007 18:24

I sent some parcels last wednesday 2nd class and they haven't turned up yet. I think there is an awful lot of backlog and that we will all have to be patient a bit longer.

Beelliesebub · 19/10/2007 18:42

I had an item arrive yesterday that I won on the 3rd of October, which is 15 days in the depot in total and I'm still waiting for stuff I won on the 5th and the 10th. To be honest, I'd wait another week and then email to ask if they could chase it up as you haven't received it yet.
I seem to be finding that stuff that was sent a day or two ago is getting here fine but the stuff that was posted in the midst of the strike are taking their time due to the backlog.

nikkid21 · 19/10/2007 19:16

The main problem is that Royal Mail are lying to business seller and customers. The info on the website during and after the strike said that they were dealing with the post in the order that it arrived and that us business sellers should not post on the strike days.

I complied with this, posted nothing on the strike days and took in excess of 60 parcels to my main post office in the 10th. Of those 60 parcels I would estimate that 10days later only 20 have arrived

Since then I have posted daily and everything has arrived within two days of posting. Basically things sent during the strike or on the 10th are sitting in a warehouse near Coventry and won't be sent out until they get around to going through it. That's not going to be any time soon beacuse they are not giving any overtime to the striking workers and they may have to get temps in.

Please, please, please be patient with your sellers. The vast majority of us posted out when we were advised by Royal mail and we have been screwed over!

Rant over - sorry but this is causing so much trouble to those of us that run a business.

littleboo · 20/10/2007 15:54

just had delivery of item paid for on 11th Oct

CarGirl · 20/10/2007 16:12

I went to collect a recorded delivery item from the sorting office, I said I was expecting another parcel today and I'd been out all morning - so he went and checed, came back with 3 more parcels think they'd been sat there a while!

Had another letter that took ages to deliver that was sent from 2 miles up the road - it had been stamped on the 11th and arrived yesterday.

I'd just contact them and politely mention that they hadn't turned up yet and please would they dig out their proof of posting in case they have to claim for their loss.
