Ebay Sat Nav is now broken

I recently won a Navgo SY885 Sat Nav which arrived promptly and we have had fun using for the last two weeks. However, now the audio is very crackly and it is very hard to understand the instructions.

I have emailed the seller (power seller), asking for a replacement, or details on how it can be fixed, twice now but neither emails have been acknowledged. It cost £100 in total so it is a big loss for something which is now broken. The sat nav was sold with "a years manufacturers guarantee", however there was no address to send the guarantee card to.

Where do I stand on getting any compensation back for this item? I really cannot afford just to let this go.

i find ebay shit at this kind of thing.

if - IF you can find an identical one in a shop - afford to buy it

take it back in a month

get money back.

might be less hassle

I haven't seen these in the shops, that is why we probably had a good deal, would be that is if it worked!! No chance of doing that I am afraid.

check the time frame for this but you should be able to return the item and claim a refund. Did you pay with paypal?

I would think if you paid by Paypal, you might have some hope, otherwise it doesn't sound good. Can you buy one from the internet anywhere reputable - e.g. amazon, play.com? Then it arrives and doesn't work...

If you paid by paypal raise a dispute, that usually gets some sort of response you will probably be asked to return it make sure you get a tracking number when it shows are received you will get a refund

The SY885 has a 1 year guarantee. You should send your Warranty Card back to:

NAVGO LLC
Rm 1604
Chen Dong 1
Den Feng Bai Lu
Shen nan East Road
Shenzhen 518002
CHINA

I am told that when they receive the card they will email you with details of how to update the database etc. I live in hopes that this will work out as I only posted my card a couple of days ago and they won't have received it yet.

Apart from that my SY885 find the way well, when in TomTom mode the 7 digit Post Codes work well but I haven't managed to get it to have anything to do with Speed Cameras yet.

Does your SY885 have TomTom then? Ours has Route 66. Do you think we can get an update for that database too? Let me know if you receive anything.

Just to say that I bought a photo keyring off a seller in China which didnt work and I was told by Paypal to send it back trackable. The Post Office told me that they cant track it outside Uk, so I just got proof of postage - needless to say the seller has obviously said thats its never been received and Paypal have said as not tracked they have closed my case - so Ive lost purchse price and return postage.
If you do put in a Paypal claim - Im sure when I read their terms - it said something like trackable is recommended but proof of postage is minimum - yet when I put that to them they just ignored me. I'll be interested to see what happens to you - Good Luck.
