Packing materials

What does everyone else use for packing up their parcels?

I use mixture of purpose bought grey mailing sacks (bought from an Ebay seller!), and jiffy bags. For certain things, I wrap in extra strong binliners. I don't open them up, I just use them flat as they are when they come off the roll, and treat them like a sheet of wrapping paper. I find they work really well, and don't get affected by water in the way brown paper does. If I need bubble wrap, I get sheets of it from the supermarket - check out the apple and banana trays, they're often lined with sheets of bubble wrap. Also, about once a month I ask on Freecycle for any jiffy bags that people have lying around. Often people will give your their stash of 20 or 30 that they've been collecting. Every little helps! I have on my 'me' page that I use recycled materials where possible, and haven't had any complaints so far.

I save all the bubble wrap that I get in my Amazon parcels and also any boxes that are good sizes. Plus, like you, I have bought the mailing sacks but your bin liner idea sounds good!

Also, if you want to be cheeky, the Royal Mail special delivery bags are fab. I was lucky at our old house, as the PO had a rack of the bags out the front for people to help themselves to. I usually took a couple of the biggest ones each time - turned inside out, they're great for sending small bundles of clothes.

ypou can get the grey plastic bags in bundles from ebay and they are cheap too!

I get the normal ones from Ebay, but the special delivery ones are really thick and good quality. I don't use many of them, so buying a bundle of them from Ebay would be expensive, and I would take years to use them up.
