I always sell on Saturday or Sunday evening but I was wondering if any sellers are changing the selling times given people are mainly working from home and the climate has changed somewhat ? I usual sell mainly clothes/shoes but was just wondering if anyone has noticed tends changing re selling times ?

I’ve heard people say that Sunday evenings are the best time to have an auction end but I don’t think it matters too much.

I mostly sell using BIN but I have one thing we want to take to auction so thought about this recently. I am planning to resort to the good ol' Sunday evening thing, too! I think main thing is to avoid middle of night & avoid office hours to get good prices. Not sure tea time is any good, either, at least not if the item is suitable for children (who might be having a fractious demanding tea time). That means should finish 7-10pm on any night, at least (in England) until 2 December when pubs might reopen.

For some reason I am fond of Monday night finishes on the grounds that there is a lot of competition on Sunday nights but have not done a statistical analysis to be sure. Auctions are doing pretty well for us at the moment (of rarer items anyway) so I think any evening finish will do OK.

Ebay is pretty dead in the water at the moment (10,000 plus +FB )
Do BIN with offers - it is the best but not great option.

Thursday and Sunday nights work best for me. Whichever evening you choose, it's usually wise to have your auctions ending after the soaps have finished. Same with any 'must watch' series - like Downton Abbey for example. Nights when England matches are on tv are best avoided too.

I put all of my items on fixed price listings. Have sold almost everything listed over the last 12 months.

I had my best day ever on New Years Day this year. I think everyone was stuck at home and bored. Even on Xmas day I managed to sell about 10 items, all completely unglamorous like catering rolls of tin foil and peg bags.

Perhaps there had been a bit of arguing about running out of tinfoil for the turkey while it was resting.
