promoting an item for sale

I've been trying to sell some very nice Hobbs trainers on eBay for a few weeks now at a fixed price but still only had 11 views!

Is it worth using one of the "promote your item" functions on eBay?

Does it work?

New or preowned? If you have had them on a while with so few views, is it worth reducing the price first?
I’ve just had a quick look and a couple of pairs I googled are pretty much the same price in store (so easy return) as a pair advertised as ‘worn once’!

I've got it set so it automatically reduces the price every so often.

They are preowned, but completely out of stock everywhere in this size.

Are you putting lots of info in the title? Including the name of the shoes as well. Also a good picture really helps, make sure it's nice lighting and a tidy background.
