Help girls - does this listing look a bit misleading to you?

I just bought a buggy, thinking it was the latest design, used for a week, and hard to get hold of.
I paid over the odds because it is actually a 2005 design (I googled it) and though the ad says discontinued, it also implies it is sought after and well, erm I fell for it...unless this design really is a collector's item or something?

I cannot work out how it was bought in 2005, and only used for one week...

also it says 'these are becoming hard to find already'. I have asked the seller to confirm when it was bought and also if they would relist, if I pay their fees, but have had no answer...trouble is I already paid thinking I was getting the new Quest, with new features...sadly I'm not.

It says 'newer' lots of times in the listing. Does anyone think it's supposed to be misleading?
Thanks x

my friend has that one, it is definitely a couple of years old....don;t know if it was limited or anything, but £70 is a lot for an old buggy

bubblerock · 11/10/2007 20:06

I can't see what you find misleading, the seller hasn't said anywhere that it is a 'current' design. I think it looks a pretty ordinary buggy for the price tbh. Was it an impulse buy or did you do research on the design before hand?

Lulumama · 11/10/2007 20:07

THIS DESIGN WAS THE VERY LATEST MONTHS THEY MANUFACTURED IT AND IS WITH THE NEWER STYLE FRAME WITH THE CHUNKIER WHEELS AND NEWER LOGO. THIS IS NOT OFTEN SEEN AS ONLY A FEW WERE MADE WITH THESE DIFFERENCES

not sure what the first sentence means... implies it is something special, but then the design was changed maybe?

theUrbanDevil · 11/10/2007 20:10

i wouldn't've paid £70 for that, tbh, but i can't see anything in the text that says it's a current design, although it is implied! not sure what you could do about it, maybe just say that the item description wasn't all that accurate? is it in good condition, as the description says?

FrightAttendant · 11/10/2007 20:16

Thankyou, I know, there's nothing actually lying, it is basically very confusing is all!

I think that sentence means that it was made during the last period of manufacture of this design - like, maybe it was made for a year, and this was made in the second half of that year iyswim.

I am so half asleep today that I read it as meaning it was the latest design, made in the last few months etc etc...but can't help feeling that this was the plan, that someone would just misunderstand?

I could be wrong, don't want to be disingenuous to the seller.

But it does seem odd that it was only used for a week?.

Hard to get hold of?

Are pushchairs collectors items now then?

sixlostmonkeys · 11/10/2007 20:25

THIS DESIGN WAS THE VERY LATEST MONTHS THEY MANUFACTURED IT

I take this to mean it was the design done in the last months of manufacture.

Don't know anything about these, but for eg, if it was manufactured for a 24 month period 2004/2005 then this model would have been produced in the last few months of 2005.

I have a feeling I haven't made this any clearer....

FrightAttendant · 11/10/2007 20:27

I understand you Six, it took me a few reads by which time I had bought it
Cannot believe my own lack of judgment...

This is how I managed to have two children by two different useless fathers!!!

Will now go and get some sleep...many thanks for your opinions

Just an update - the seller emailed and said it was produced from Dec. 05 to Dec. 06, and that this one has an early 2007 frame, and 2006 covers. (? how did that happen?)
She was very nice and helpful and checked all the features were the same as current ones. She used to run a pram shop and has four kids so she knows her stuff, I think she is honest, it was me being a dipstick.

Anyway thankyou for all your posts last night, it was good to have some input.
