If i sold something for say £x and the buyer paid me on paypal. If I wanted then to transfer this money to my current account would I get charged again. Thanks

No you dont get charged to transfer to your bank account.

you do get charged if it's less than £50

Well I transfered £40 the other day and it hasnt charged me.

anything under £50 gets a charge of 25p.
If you transfer £40 - £39.75 will go in your bank
