Hermes tracked parcel stolen. What happens now?

I sold some kids things on Ebay via Hermes. It was delivered and photos in the front garden. The buyer has said it's been stolen.

What happens next? I have had a quick Google and I think I need to refund and then claim via Hermes?

Is that right? I cant believe that even doing Hermes tracked offers no protection as a seller. Good job it was just kids stuff and I learnt my lesson this way.

I guess all that I have lost is the postage in reality. If I dont sell the outgrown clothes they just go to the charity shop, which I have to pay to park at so overall I'm about £3 down vs charity shop.

Is it even worth claiming via Hermes for second hand clothes for around a tenner?

If the tracking says it has been delivered then you will win any eBay dispute. Just make sure the tracking number is uploaded against the sales record. Then you can argue with Hermes, claim on the parcel insurance and refund the buyer.
