Someone has asked for a Buy It Now price to be put on something

I listed an item, but not buy it now as I wasn't sure how much people would pay for it. I put the starting price at £1.50. it already has a bid. Someone has emailed me via ebay to ask if I would put a buy it now price on, and let them know how much it is. It has 18 wathcers, all of whom appeared in the first 10 minutes of the auction being listed, and the bidder put his bid in almost as soon as it was listed. I don't think I want to pout a BIN price, but even if I did, am i correct in thinking that once an item has bids on it then you can't revise it?

You are correct. Don't add a BIN as it is obviously a wanted item and will undoubtedly go for more than he is offering. He knows this and is trying a cheky offer.

Unless I say Buy It Now for £50 and see what they say . I can't understand why someone would want to pay a lot for it anyway, which is why I put £1.50 down as starting price, and certainly don't expect it to go for much more than that

I wouldn't do an off ebay sale. It's against the rules and you won't be covered.

have you looked on completed items to see what they have gone for previously??? I think you can add a BIN but I wouldn't once there is a bid on it.

you cant put a bin on once the listing has started now, i tried cos i forgot to do it and it wont let you. so tell them that

It's now gone up to £10.50, the same person who bid at the beginning, its got about 4 days left to run.
it s a Romanian rugby shirt. It was given to DH by a friend of his who is a professional referee. He said he got it after being an official at a Romania game. Thing is, its a bit worn. It has some bobbling on the collar, but I think thats due to the fabric rather than the wear and tear. It also has a big blue line down the back, where the ref who gave us it thinks his wife ironed over the number. I have put all this in the description but they are still bidding on it.

I didn't put a BIN price by the way

Well DH has some SRU referee shirts that he got when he was a ref in the Caledonia area (covered Perth, Fife, Angus etc). he obviously doesn't need them in Hampshire, and since they were given to him I told him he should sell them. They all have the SRU logo on the front and the name of the sponsors at the time. there is obv a market out there for them

That rugby shirt I am on about in the OP. it's now up to £68.99, and there is 3 days left. Thing is it's not new, or in fantastic condition, as I listed on the descrption. I hope the people bidding understand what I've written

I managed to persuade DH to let me list one his scottish rugby referee tops. It's in excellent condition, the only thing is, he doesn't want me to put "referee" in the title in case it misleads people into thinking he has ref'd at a World Cup or something.

The other one mentioned in the OP finishes in about 3 hours, still at £68.99

DG - I started it at £1.50 becasue I really didn't think it would sell, especially as it's not in the best of conditions. Still theres no accounting for what people buy is there. just hopingthis other referee shirt sells as well, so I can persudae DH that there is no need for him to have 9 shirts lying in a box being unworn!

I have been looking on ebay at this - well done, but sorry I can only see a winning bid of 133.99
Just as well you couldn't give it a BuyItNow price of £50

You're in shock, how do you think I feel. It's just anold Romania shirt and it's huge, an XXL. It's been bought by someone in Japan, he has been buying a lot of rugby/football stuff recently

Its £135 with the postage. Did I put down £145, I'm so excited I must have put the wrong number down,god I'm always doing that, I type it down and never bother to preview, or I do preview and still get it wrong . Will have to text DH to tell him. On second thoughts I won't becasue he'll want the money, will tell him ti went for £68
