Returned item but seller hasn't been in for delivery or collected from delivery office

I returned an item to the seller, communication was good about the return, was going to send me a smaller size etc. I posted it tracked mail but first delivery attempt said address inaccessible, then nobody was home.

It's now just in a delivery office and I don't think I put my address on it.

I've tried to contact royal mail but their website just sends me in circles. Ebay refused to refund because they say I didn't post it in time even though I did (they never asked for any proof of postage). I can't find out any way to contact them either.

I've sent loads of msgs to the seller but no response and now I'm down £50 and have no item!

Item will stay in delivery office for 3 weeks until customer either collects it or requests it redelivered. If neither happens then will be returned to sender. If no sender address on item then it will be sent to Belfast to rlb.
Here it will be opened to look for a senders address inside. If still no address then will have a description of item, packaging, address sent to, etc logged on system and item will be stored for month before being disposed of.
Keep checking your tracking number as if your parcel leaves the delivery office then it will be updated.
If it does get sent to rlb then you should call customer services on 08457 740 740 and ask them to check system for rlb.

Also, your proof of posting is the receipt you got if you sent it from a post office. Or if done online then the email confirmation.

Yep I have the proof of postage, but ebay never gave me the chance to give it to them before stating I'd not posted it back in time. I really needed this particular item in a set time so I'm just frustrated that I have to wait so long to get it back and even then it doesn't fit so I can't use it Angry

@KinkyFink

Keep calling and pestering eBay. Eventually you'll get through to someone who can help.
