Buyer saying not received

Hi, i posted an item earlier in the week via 2nd class royal mail. The buyer is saying they want a full refund as they haven't received it yet. It was 9.99 so i just sent it standard but I've got proof of postage.
Can anyone tell me where I stand on this please? Am i going to end up refunding him and he gets the item anyway?
Thank you

I'd wait a couple of days yet to make sure it's not just a bit delayed x

Thanks, I'm just worried they'll push for a refund even if they do receive the item.

If it was a small parcel or larger then there will be a reference number on the receipt you can enter online, it will tell you if the parcel has been delivered or not.

If it was letter sized then you actually need proof of delivery to win a non receipt claim.

You can still claim compo from Royal Mail though if it doesn’t show up.

Politely explain to the buyer that ebays delivery estimates are very optimistic, and even before Covid second class mail can take up to a week. Tell her if it hasn’t arrived after that then you will refund her in full (then you can claim from Royal Mail). Make sure she opens a case though and does it through the correct channels. This may put her off if she pulls this trick often.
