Just wanted to have a rant really. I spotted a seller who had various Lego friends sets listed. I bid on 2. Won 1 and lost out at the last second to the other. There’s other stuff ending in a few days so messaged them asking if I’d be ok to wait and see if I won any of them to combine postage.
As I was typing the message a second chance offer came through for the set I didn’t win and the excuse was that the buyer’s daughter had bid on it at the last minute. Briefly chuffed then I looked at the bids history. Both items had someone with the same user ID blocked out and a feedback of 3.
So I turned detective and looked at their sold items. They’ve been using the same account to bid items up and then offering second chance offers if it gets to a price they’re happy with.
I’m surprised ebay don’t have an algorithm that detects this to be honest. They seem to monitor just about everything else
I mean, call me cynical but are they now turning a blind eye to this as it makes them more money in the end?
