Do you leave feedback every time ?

I leave feedback for everything I buy. Everything, no matter how insignificant or cheap. Partly to communicate to the seller that it's arrived and I'm happy, partly because you should as feedback is an important part of the site. I definitely believe in leaving neg when it's warranted.

Do you?

Years ago, I used to sell loads and found most people operated in a similar way but now I've started to notice people don't really leave fb anymore. It's definitely declined over the years.
In the last week I've sold 20 items and have had just three people leave FB.
It's annoying as hell. I want to know if I can withdraw the money without someone coming and asking for theirs back (bad experience back when I was really skint and sold something big because I needed the money, I withdrew it and spent it but then they decided they wanted a refund and it was a serious stressful time! So now I hang on to it for as long as possible, or until positive fb that often never comes)

If you don't, why not? (And please consider doing so from now on, think of me with my little pot of money that I can't spend until I've had your blessing to do so!)

I always do; however the last 2 things I sold I’ve had nothing back. I even shipped a buggy to the other side of the country it would be nice to at least have confirmation it got there in one piece.

I used to leave feedback every time but don't anymore partly because the app used to remind you to but doesn't anymore. I would if it was just give the scores but it also insists you write something which I find tedious. I also sell and it doesn't bother me people don't normally leave feedback, I just wait 2 weeks after the item is delivered to use the money.

I do, yes. As a seller, I find I receive FB

OneInEight · 02/07/2020 10:26

I reckon we average about 40% feedback rates. To be honest i find it annoying to give feedback (hence I automate mine) so I can't really blame others for not doing mine. I also have an irrational hatred of people badgering me to give feedback for their items. Often people take a long time to give feedback so I imagine you will get a few more in the next month or so.

Yes, it gets on my wick too. Coupled with the fact it's usually the ones where you're deliberating if they deserve a neutral or negative score. The pushy ones always seems to have iffy items or traces of dishonesty about condition etc!

Usuals ago yes but tbh now not so much. If it's obviously a personal seller I do but if it's a £1 phone screen from someone with 60000 then I often don't go back.

Years ago...

TARSCOUT · 02/07/2020 11:22

Absolutely.

Xylophonics · 03/07/2020 17:54

I do yes.
Agree feedback seems to have dropped right off lately, annoyingly - as you say as this is how the site works.

Gingefringe · 06/07/2020 15:08

I always leave feedback for my purchases but if my buyers dont leave me feedback then I don't bother either.

I think people leave less feedback now because of the eBay App where it's not apparent that you can leave feedback.

MikeUniformMike · 07/07/2020 18:00

No. What can you do as a seller if the buyer is a PITA.

I had one messaging me several times during the lockdown complaining that his purchase was taking too long to arrive. After a few days he opened a Item not received case against me. I kept telling him that the mail was likely to take longer.

He left nice feedback, but I could have done without the hassle.

Generally, if someone leaves feedback, I'll leave feedback for them.

I've got a CF today - sold something and they claim it was grubby and it disintegrated in the wash.

Rafflesway · 10/07/2020 16:37

I always do except on the very rare occasion.

Last week I ordered a charging cable - long lead - which was a day late arriving. No problem as may be the post and not the seller.

However, the charger wouldn’t work so emailed seller who replied very sniffily the following day saying nobody else had complained and to keep trying and all the different ways I could plug it in and to send him photographs etc.🙄. DH finally got it to work on his tablet but it was incredibly slow and took 14 hours to charge to 90%. Emailed seller back to explain but said as it was only £3.75 not to worry.

Thought that was the end of it but 7 days later got an email from Ebay with no communication from seller - which I took as being quite passive/aggressive - saying I had been refunded in full.

I’m not leaving feedback on this one as , despite the refund, the seller I found to be really rude. The fact that no-one else had complained certainly doesn’t mean MY charger wasn’t faulty. The fact he refunded me tells me it definitely was but he just didn’t want to apologise for being so arsey.

babbaganoush · 10/07/2020 16:38

Yes I do, it takes 10 seconds and it annoys me when people don’t return the favour.

CatBatCat · 10/07/2020 16:40

Always do. Not necessarily straight away, I'll do a month or two worth of purchases all in one go but I eventually give feedback for them all.
