Ds won a golf club on ebay. It's brand new and reatils for £200. He got it for £82.

Seller does not take paypal.
He requests cheque immediatley as he is moving premises on 26th Sept
He now emails us to say he is not a registered member of ebay any more as ebay have messed up, says he will despatch club when he receives cheque

I have checked on ebay and his account is blocked.

I have an uneasy feeling. What do you think?

Yes i would cancel the cheque straight away as you will probably never see the golf club, you wont get your money back either because you paid by cheque.

Well if you do decide to back out he can't report you can he? Not if he's no longer registered.

as already said - you have no protection if you pay by anything other than paypal
