I sold a vintage item which the buyer had collected by courier. He is now saying he believes it has been damaged & repaired & he’s not happy. It definitely had not in the time I owned it (10 years) and I had no problems or reason to suspect it during that time. I was told it had been in the family I bought it from for over 20 years.

The buyer has messaged about ten times, late at night going over the same points & I don’t know what to do next. Anyone know how to speak to EBay to get help with this? Haven’t sold much before - doubt I will again!

You need to go to the eBay help section and basically keep following the path (any path) until you see a contact us then call us option, it will give you a number to call.

How did the buyer pay? If PayPal you might be stuffed, this is why it’s I’ll advised to accept PayPal for collection items.

I have an issue with eBay. Their phone lines are closed because of COvid. I tried their messaging service but it was just a bot not a live chat. I could not find anyway to contact them at all. Sorry I know that's not much help

Thank you for you replies. Unfortunately they paid by PayPal - I’m not an experienced seller & thought it would be safer than cash with the current Virus issues. My husband is “shielded” so I tried to avoid any contact.

I managed to speak to an “EBay Expert” who advised polite responses & to offer a possible discount I’ve heard nothing since Saturday- most of the messages come very late (after 10pm) so will wait and see. I’ll update with the outcome, thanks again.

I’ve reason to believe the buyer is some sort of trader but not sure if that makes any difference - can’t check as can’t contact EBay?
