I put this on.

I really thought it would get some interest, but it looks like it's going to go for 99p. There's no watchers.

Nothing I can do about it now, but I am KICKING myself!

Let this be a warning to you all - never assume you have an item that people are going to WANT!!!

I wouldn't start to worry just yet - it's still got nearly 2 days left to run - lots of people don't put bids in until the last hour/minutes/seconds.

A good way to "gauge" demand of things is to do a search for "completed" items along the lines of what you're selling - then you can see what didn't sell, what did and what sort of price they went for

TheQueenOfQuotes · 20/09/2007 21:01

Infact having just done a quick search there's one that sold today (think it's exactly the same as yours?) for £9.99

mytwopenceworth · 20/09/2007 21:01

Ta, QOQ.

Ta ess, no, there's one bid, which is why I expect it to go for 99p. Tis my own fault. I am a buyer, not a seller, usually, so am inexperienced. I put a BIN, but should have put a higher starting price. Never mind, live and learn. I'm just pissed off with myself.

looking at others the same as yours that have sold recently they all seem to have gone from about £7 upwards.....although most had slightly cheaper postage (although not drastically so).

lalaa · 20/09/2007 21:07

this is a bit naughty, but have you got a friend who can 'bid' for you then not pay? then you can list it again for more.

ellehcim · 20/09/2007 21:09

Know this is a bit sneaky but if you really don't want to let it go and the price doesn't rise couldn't you get your partner or a friend with a different ebay address to bid. ok you won't have sold your item and you'll have to pay ebay the commission but its not a lot and might be better than letting the item go for a pitance.

ellehcim · 20/09/2007 21:09

great sneaky minds think alike lalaa!

mytwopenceworth · 20/09/2007 21:10

ooo, that's very naughty you two!

kitsandbits · 20/09/2007 21:15

aww i was going to bid seriously, my DP needs one of these - you naughty bumpers

mytwopenceworth · 20/09/2007 21:19

nonono, nobody is fake bidding! they just suggested i get a mate to!

the person who is currently winning it is they guy who put the initial bid on.

I'm not going to do anything untoward - whoever wins it, wins it - whatever it goes for!

OP posts:
kitsandbits · 20/09/2007 21:21

no you just bumped it up which isnt allowed

lol - im not arsed really - ill find one

burstingbug · 20/09/2007 21:22

Eeeeeer, em, I'm the 2nd bidder, but happy to pay a bit more if I win.

Pixiefish · 20/09/2007 21:22

can i just comment on this 'fake' bidding. Ebay call it shill bidding and if you get caught they will suspend your account and also your friends.

They have ways of finding things out and to do it just mroe than once unless you live in different parts fo the country is very dangerous

mytwopenceworth · 20/09/2007 21:23

Hey! Hang on! I didn't do anything I just moaned!!! I didn't fake a bid! Honest!
