"Sender is despatching item"

Any idea what that actually means? Do you think that means they have actually posted the item or not?

After a message to a seller about not yet receiving a parcel, the tracking has been updated to the above today.

The item was due to be posted on 20th April (which is when the said they posted it) but today the tracking has changed to the above. They are blaming the current situation and saying it must be delayed with Royal Mail, but I suspect that's just an excuse for not bothering to post.

What do you think?

Can you use the tracking number to see when it will arrive/was sent.

I think you have to be a bit patient at the moment.
Some people are only going to the post office once a week because of C-vid and Royal Mail has Christmas volumes of post without any extra seasonal staff & lots of staff off sick or 14 day precautionary isolation.

Where I work we use RM and post about 600 items a week, some are still arriving next day, some are taking over 2 weeks (1st class post). Most customers are being understanding as know it's a C-vid related issue, not us.
