Coat I won on ebay STINKS!

I recently won an O'Neill ski jacket from ebay and it arrived yesterday. However it really smells, mainly around the collar area but also inside. I have washed it and it is still as bad so I cant see it going. I have informed the seller but she just says it was fine when she packed it up, and just to wash it. It makes my stomach turn though when I try it on, even after washing.

She refuses to offer a refund as she says it didnt smell when she packed it. But I cant see how the smell arose during posting.

What would you suggest I do?

eeeeewwwwwwwwwwwww

the seller maybe stinks so wouldn't notice her own odour, get it dry cleaned

Unless the postman wore the jacket from her house to yours, there is no way smell enters a well wrapped up parcel.

Take out a claim in eBay. Item significantly not as described.

Do not leave any feedback until the dispute has been resolved.

When you do return the jacket, do so with trackable means. (Recorded delivery)

I am a bit apprehensive about dry cleaning it, dont think you can as it is waterproof and I am not sure if it will affect its waterproofness. I will look into the dispute procedure.

well if you've washed it in the machine then I think it'll be ok to dry clean it
