Item not as described but seller doesn't agree

I was looking for a snowsuit for DD on eBay.

I bought an item described as a fleece lined snowsuit. It has turned up today and is a puddle suit with a very thin layer of fleece lining only the body section of the suit; the arms and legs are just one thin layer of puddle suit material.

I have taken this up with the seller who refuses to budge and says that the item IS a snowsuit and IS fleece lined and thus is as described.

Usually I couldn't be bothered with this and would accept the loss and sell the item on (with the correct description) but because I can only sell this as a puddlesuit I'll only get half the price for it and this means DD will be without a snowsuit (which she needs as she is skinny and gets cold very easily). I just can't afford this mistake at the moment as money is tight.

There has now been an exchange of messages and we seem to have reached a stalemate. Can anyone give any advice?

Thanks

Raise it with either eBay or PayPal as a dispute. Take photographs and attach them. I imagine they would decide in your favour as its basically like buying a ski jacket and receiving a light windbreaker!

Open a not as described case- Ebay will usually side with the buyer and you will be able to send it for a tracked return and the seller will have to refund you. I would agree with you a fleece lined Snowsuit I would expect to be lined all over.

Thanks. It's such a pain! The eBay website says I have to wait until the 18th for them to step in even though the seller has already refused to refund.

I realise I haven't been clear - after first messaging the seller to say the item wasn't as expected and them responding saying they wouldn't accept a return I went through the 'not as described' steps but they have just responded to this with the same message saying that they don't do refunds.

Underneath their message is some eBay text saying that if seller/buyer can't resolve it directly that they will step in from the 18th.

No, I don’t consider that a snowsuit at all. It should be lined throughout.

Just wait until the 18th then click the button for eBay to step in, then you will be refunded.

I always buy a snowsuit for DS from Asda online each year. Brilliant value and I get it pre Xmas so choice of patterns. Here's one example but search snowsuits on there. Various patterns from £18

It’s annoying to have to wait but thems the rules. You just have to wait. Then ebay will do their thing. I’ve never not had my money back. Sometimes I’ve had to return the item. Sometimes I’ve been told to just keep it.

Sorry a bit of a tangent. I hate eBay sometimes they do make you wait ages.
