Seller agreed I could collect this month and won’t reply

I bought an item in October and it turned out it was heavier than expected to post so instead of receiving it by post I replied that I could collect it in person when in the area for Christmas .
Having heard back promptly before the seller in now ignoring all messages and I have missed the time period in which money bsck was guaranteed. They had said they’d send the address in December and didn’t.
Does this mean I have no rights even though my message history makes it very clear what has happened?
This is irrelevant but I am really upset as it has affected my son’s Christmas.

If you paid by PayPal then open a not received case with them as they offer 180 days buyer protection.

I don’t think I can get help from PayPal either as it says
Let the seller know there's a problem with the transaction by opening a dispute in the Resolution Centre* within the timeframe noted in the transaction details. If you can't resolve the issue with the seller, escalate the dispute to a claim within 20 days of the date you opened the dispute.

I missed the time frame as we had agreed a collection date 2 months away ie past the timeframe

No, you can still open a not received dispute with PayPal. The seller has to provide a proof of delivery to win, which obviously they can’t.

When you open your dispute just write “not received item” in the comments section, don’t expand as per your OP.

I’m not saying that you won’t get a refund because of explaining, but it’s always best just to keep things short and to the point.
