eBay - End auto re-list (please help before I put my head through the computer screen)

I've got some items listed on eBay that just aren't selling (baby clothes). I've decided I'd like re-package them as a bundle (currently on there as individual items). However, I'm going round and round in circles trying to turn off the automatic relist setting. I've Googled but when I follow the instructions I get an error message.

Any suggestions gratefully received...

Try a different browser

PenelopeFlintstone · 18/11/2019 13:14

I feel your pain. It’s a terrible change by eBay and deliberately hidden, I think. Sorry I can’t remember how I fixed it but I know I had to pay selling fees 🙄

INeedNewShoes · 18/11/2019 13:27

Thanks for the suggestion @which1 . I've just tried in a different browser and still no luck.

On a forum I've found in Googling this someone says they called eBay customer services who said there was no way to remove the automatic relist anymore.

It's so frustrating! I'll most likely have these items hanging around for another 6 weeks of eBay relisting them before I can have another shot at selling them.

I'm completely fed up of eBay now. I've 'made' £90 on eBay in the past fortnight but paid £14 of fees on that, and presumably that's before Paypal take their cut too. I think it's time to move to a different platform for selling.

How did you pay £14? That's 15%.

INeedNewShoes · 18/11/2019 22:40

I have no idea! It seems steep, doesn't it!?

You can't remove auto-relist anymore for Buy It Now prices. Is that right? Is that what yours were?
But I don't think it's compulsory if you do an auction.
The problem is that I did everything at Buy It Now with postage included because otherwise the work was too much for the money made. I can't remember exactly how now because I've done Buy it Now for years.

Flyingsouthwiththeswallows · 18/11/2019 23:06

I just end the listing and say the item is no longer available for sale.

Has that recently stopped working ? Or am I missing something ?

buzzswole · 18/11/2019 23:22

I just managed it.
I'm on the app.
I went into revise the listing - pricing - turn off easy listing.

Twillow · 18/11/2019 23:30

I used to Ebay frequently but the posting is a faff and they take such a cut it's barely worth it now. Unless the item (search using sold) has previously sold at a good price or is very unusual, I tend to use facebook now. I think less people are buying on it too, as auctions are usually rubbish for selling. Set a high buy it now price and be prepared for offers.

INeedNewShoes · 18/11/2019 23:45

@buzzswole

I think the Easy Pricing only relates to eBay automatically reducing the price if an item doesn’t sell.

Go on revise listing. Reason can be for incorrect info or something similar. End it and start again.

Scribblescribbles · 18/11/2019 23:50

Please don't put your head through the computer screen. It will still be on there thenGrin

Pannalash · 18/11/2019 23:53

Try changing the listing length. I think auto re list only works on 7 days, so make it shorter. Could be wrong but worth a try.

cherrytree63 · 19/11/2019 06:53

This thread reminded me to cancel a listing!
My item has auto relisted 3 times, but I'm sure I unticked the auto relist option.
If you go into your listing there should be 3 dots on the right (I'm using the app on my phone) and the option to cancel listing is there.
If there's no bids you shouldn't be charged but check in the help topics for more info.
I'm selling a lot of stuff on Facebook at the moment, the majority of buyers want to use Paypal for buyer protection, but aren't keen to cover the fees, or pay the extra 80p for signature for seller protection.
(Sorry for the tangent!)

NegroniOnIce · 25/11/2019 18:36

You can't disable auto-relist on buy it now/good till cancelled auctions. Complete pain in the arse.

Also it's worth remembering that you lose 14% off final sales value - 10% to eBay and 4% to Paypal unless you get lucky with a £1 maximum fees offer.

INeedNewShoes · 25/11/2019 19:41

Is there a better way to sell?

A couple of months ago I listed 20 items on Shpock. No hint of any buyers. I then put the same items on eBay and 15 have sold for decent prices. The loss to eBay/PayPal is frustrating though.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 01/12/2019 20:32

I just came on to ask the same.
Will just have to cancel after next week I think - unless any of you lovely lot want to buy my things for sale?!
How annoying.

DontCallMeShitley · 20/12/2019 08:32

When the changes were brought in for auto re-list on BIN listings they were changed to 30 days only which is a pain.

People were waiting to see if they were charged for the auto re-lists, and ending the listings early to avoid it, just leaving one up to see what happened.

It turned out that when you get 100 free listings per month it rolls over and you don't pay for the next re-list unless you have more than 100 listings.

This is as a private seller, although seems a bit odd that a private seller would have that many listings so assume a lot of business sellers are using it.

GTC is OK, you just need to keep an eye on the listings.

However, you can end listings in bulk and make a new listing if you want to. Or just end one if you wish.
