Posting to Nigeria...

I know. I can hear you all already. I have an old Apple Watch for sale and a guy messaged asking about postage to Nigeria, I said no. He said please, it's for my brothers birthday (🤦🏻‍♀️) I said no. He has now offered 5x what the starting bid is. Will I be protected by PayPal when he inevitably tries it on? Or just by asking that question am I showing how stupid I am and to stop responding to him.

Without a doubt, this is a scam. Stop wasting your time with him.

Why does he want to pay 5X asking price?
Why is he so desperate for your particular watch?

It's a scam. One of my friends was caught out by the exact same story from someone in Nigeria. She agreed to send the item when the PayPal funds came through. She received a poorly put together fake email from "PayPal" saying the funds had been transferred. They have still to this day never appeared in her account.

Also, he is in Germany according to his Ebay feedback and profile. 😂 I would never have actually agreed to it, but wanted a sense check here. Thanks!

If he's willing to pay 5x then he can walk into an apple store and buy a brand new one.

I actually had an email from eBay as it was indeed a scam and he's also messaged me about another expensive item I have for sale from another account! I knew that was a scam too. People are dicks.
