PayPal help

Hi this isn't the right group but I thought might be best for some PayPal advice. Basically I ordered an item from a website (not ebay) on the 6th using PayPal and postage was £8, got an email confirming order which said I would get another one about delivery. On the 11th I sent an email asking if item had been shipped yet as I needed it for today (16th) and I never got a reply. After a bit of searching I found an old Facebook page which looks like it's the same company which has quite a bit of bad feedback, so I went on PayPal yesterday and using the resolution centre sent a message asking if I am going to get my goods. My question for here is how long should I wait for a reply before I go through the buyers protection? It says I have until the 6th of October and after that the case will be closed, so should I wait a week? Never had an issue in all the years I've been buying so just wondering. Thanks for any help!!

Personally, I would pressume that it is a dodgy website and report the issue to paypal and raise a case to get a refund. if you paid for the product under 'goods and services' and NOT 'family and friends' you will be covered and entitled for a full refund. If you are having suspicions and they haven't replied then i would just go ahead and file a complaint to start the process of getting your money back.

Hope this is helpful!

Thanks so much, that was kind of what I was thinking but I didn't want to jump the gun!

I can understand why you wouldn't want to jump the gun but then i suppose its coming up to two weeks now since you placed the order and if you have come across a dodgy Facebook page i would trust your gut!

If you need to speak to a real person on the PP helpline, just keep saying “agent” at every prompt, and you will eventually get through. They use a very annoying and useless voice recognition thingy.

I never knew you could do that! Will keep it in mind for myself in the future if I ever have an issue again.

Yes, it works.

Just thought I would update to say I got my money back. In the end I got an email saying my claim was denied as I had already been issued a refund by the company, so they must have done that(got the money today) and then PayPal sent the email. I've never heard an actual thing from the company though. Thanks for your help!!

Not a problem! Glad you got your money back, nothing worse than a case like your own where you don't get your money back!
