Am about to put some things on ebay but am just trying to work out have much PayPal would take as a fee? I don't won't to sell something for a couple of ££, pay money to list it, then PayPal take their cut to be left with nowt!

It takes a percentage and a flat amount out I think. It must say on the paypal website. Someone else will probably find it quicker than me

Can't find a page with specifically pounds on it, but it suggests it's about 2% plus about 20p. You also need to pay something if you withdraw under a certain amount (£50?) into your bank account.

thanks for that. didn't think to see if there was something on ebay - doh!

Just to add that if you get paid through PayPal, the buyer will pay you the auction price plus postage cost.

I believe PayPal takes a cut of the total money received, not just the money that is for the actual winning auction price.

To give you an idea:

I sold something for £2.24 and charged £1.00 for postage. I received £3.34 and was charged the following fees:

ebay listing fee 5p
ebay final value fee 20p
paypal fee 31p

I actually paid 60p to post it so net profit = £2.08.

Meant to add, fees are quite steep for cheap things. I still sell cheap things though!
