Why does ebay think I am in Germany?

Occasionally when I go to ebay (thru a favourites link) I get asked if I want to be redirected to my home site and gives me a button for ebay Germany.

I am in the UK and always have been. My account says I am in the UK.

It thinks I'm in Germany too sometimes. And the States. Usually if you log out and in again you find you have been magically transported back home!
