ask them to check with their neighbours and their local sorting office.
If it still doesn't turn up send them a refund and then you claim from royal mail.

I never had any lost mail in all the yaers on ebay - now, with the postal disputes, I've just had to refund 2 lots - one of them a very scarce and lovely book

did you get a proof of postage?

callmeovercautious · 17/07/2007 09:58

This just happened to me and when I told the buyer that RM would be investigating as I was putting in a claim it suddenly arrived Try this before giving the refund. The Lady in the post office told me it is more common. Esp now there has been 2 strikes - gives people the "lost in the system" excuse.

I've sold loads on ebay & only had one item go missing. I'd refunded the buyer & was just about to send in my claim to RM (you have to wait X amount of days after expected delivery date - it worked out at almost a month for 2nd class IIRC) when the guy emailed to say that it had turned up at last & paid me again! I was so chuffed that he'd been so honest & gave him the most glowing feedback that the limited space allowed.

If you've got proof of postage you can get a claim form from RM & there is a special section for ebay claims. Good luck.
