Do you think the name would reduce the price anyone would be willing to pay? (They are age 14, long leg, M&S Teflon, adjustable waist)

I don't think most buyers will mind the name in the trousers as long as you say in the description and I doubt it would impact the price much. I have sold things with names in before and still got a good price.

If you advertise them as BNWT they should be BRAND NEW. If they ahve been written in they arent brand new. You open yourself up to potential disputes and potential expensive paypal chargebacks. You need to tick 'used' on the description but explain that they are virtually new and are unworn.

You need to do this for your own protection, as it will give the buyer less grounds for complaint to paypal.
