Seller cancelled - won’t refund

I bought an item from Italy on the 22nd March. Had a delivery date of 10th April.
Checked on eBay on 31st March and low and behold seller had cancelled the item. Not told me. It also didn’t ping up as a email.
I contacted seller through eBay and he was very apologic. Faulty apparently when he tested it ( although item was described as new so not sure why he would be testing it) .
No refund, Emailed again. PayPals fault being sorted.
Have gone back to eBay but can’t raise it because it’s still being delivered on the 10th April in the “ report” drop downs AND says Cancellation pending. It wants to know when I receive my refund but nothing to help with “ he hadn’t“.
Do I just wait until Wednesday and say it hasn’t arrived arrive even though he’s cancelled it. Credit card has come through so there’s interest on it if I don’t pay the £200 now.

Hi. I think you may need to wait until the expected item delivery date has passed, you should then be able to open a item not received case. However the seller has already cancelled the order 🤔 Can't advise anymore as never experienced this.
Failing that you can ring Ebay, or select for them to call you. Just go to the help section and select the item that you need help with, then follow the steps, it's all on there.
Hopefully someone will be along shortly who has experienced this and can advise.

Hi - Not really an answer to your question but you won’t be paying interest on the purchase just yet.

I think that eBay is waiting for you to click somewhere to accept the cancellation. Once you do that the refund will be automatic.

Thanks all.
None of the help boxes apply - they take me round in circles. One ends up telling me the seller has cancelled and can I input the date they refunded me ( no box to say they haven’t done so, no where to say I accept the cancellation).

The other tells me the item has until the 10th to get to me!
There’s no number I can see to ring or email them.

I will give you their number, Although because you haven't been through the process to get the number they won't know who you are when you ring, you might need to give account details. 0800 358 6551
Either that or wait until 11th to open item not received case, if it will let you.

You don’t need to select an appropriate help option, just choose any old one until you get your desired contact option then speak to the representative about your problem. They won’t turn you away.

Did you pay with PayPal? (you said "PayPals fault being sorted).

If so, log into your PayPal account and see if there is a pending refund there. Sometimes you have to manually go into PayPal and accept the refund, it doesn't just go through automatically, especially if the buyer and seller are in different countries or it's over a certain amount.

This will then link back to eBay and you should be able to see that the transaction has been properly cancelled once you've accepted the PayPal refund.

Check if it's not been sent by eCheque. Agree with above PP, choose any item then follow the prompts for them to call you. I didn't think of that.
