Postage costs

Folks,

I've noticed over the past while shipping from the US is getting ridiculously high to the point where it's so ridiculous it puts you off buying.

For example I often see things that won't be hugely heavy eg a soft toy costing forty odd quid to send.

Have postage costs over there went up so much or are sellers taking the piss? Other countries ate often a bit more reasonable with postage costs..

Postage from America IS expensive though.

When my Dad lived in America a few years ago, I wanted him to post me a pair of shoes and I’m sure the cheapest option was about £50-60!

It's also possible that some of the postage costs are set by eBay themselves, that is often the case when sending international from the UK so may be similar.

Thank you. Its crazy how much it is. I remember back in the day it was no where near as bad as it is now, often the postage is even more than the item!! I imagine it must affect US sellers worldwide sales. Oh well, I think I'll only look to the US for a purchase if its something I REALLY want to buy...!
